So …. I’ve got a pension

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Hi,

yeah yeah i know.

First off some good new I got a pay rise with the possibility of another in about 6ish months :) Its fair to say I’m much with the happy about that, also I have a pension.

Its quite a good deal, I pay a percentage and my company doubles it and the pension company adds a little too so by the time I’m 65 or whatever the retirement age ends up being I shoudl have a tidy little sum to help me though the “twlight years” :)

So…. I was thinking is a Deathmatch the opposite of a Safety Match? your comments on this would be most appreciated.

I’m reading Dan Brown’s “Digital Fortress” which I’m pleasantly surprised with having never read “The da Vinci Code”. All the hype around it kinda put me off, its not really a surprise that a book ripping holes in a centuries old religion, that has a somewhat “interesting” history, was popular. One thing I want to say about it tho, this book offended many Christians/Catholics around the world which is easy to understand but it should be noted that they didn’t start bombing random places/people to show their displeasure, they simply stood up and said “I’m offended” and the world listened and accepted their right to be offended and in turn those people accepted the right of others who said they weren’t offended. Then the world moved on to the next problem. The Islamic Extremists should take a lesson from this and accept that everyone has different opinions and it is possible to live with them, yes its difficult some times but it can be done without killing people.

Ok thats enough for now,

Pasta and TV

Monday, November 6th, 2006

As I’m writting this I’m trying to doodle but it all seems like pap, but i’m working on it and maybe i’ll stick it up later.

So Pasta and TV I hear you say well I’ll explain a rather strange and slightly demented friend of mine expressed her worry that I hadnt blogged in a while, and for those of you who also worried I just couldnt think of anything to blog about … anyway Pasta and TV came about after a few seconds of conversation of me asking what I should blog about, Pasta because she was eating some and TV because theres nothing on eventho there is 300+ channels.

This my firends it the result of my thinking on the issue of Pasta and rubbish TV … what if you could watch tv on your pasta while you eat, granted it could cause people not to eat because if there was something good on you wouldnt eat it then it get cold and well lets face it cold pasta isnt that great but also if it was rubbish (the tv show) you would have the satisfaction of knowing that when the pasta passes through the digestive system and into the toilet bowl or nearest wall, depending on when and where it finishes it journey, that is a hell of a lot better than when you ate it. This way the age old saying “I could make a show that would p*** all over that!” will finaly be true.

Good wasnt it?

Just alittle update … work is good, nothing special but sooo much better than working in a chavvy pub.

Best go or I wont finish me doodle,

As promised heres the pic I was doing (click on it to get the full size, opens new tab or window), its not my best but hey. by-product.info for more of my drawings and soon camera pictures.

Creamsoda!! Noooooo!!!!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Ahoy Tweek, just face it I won the shoot out and stopping your comic just so you don’t have to draw your defeat … Its a shame old boy.

Just a few quick points,

1 - Beer is not the solution to mans problems, it may be the cause but it is a long way off being any kind of solution.

2 - Who ever said its better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at was clearly drinking beer at the time and had clearly not been in love, it hurts like hell …… it just … hell

3 - I still would like to know what a peachmouse is? Any ideas?

4 - …. Why are things not fair? I know its the way things are but there must be a reason for it. No one expects life to be easy otherwise we’d all be rich well educated and there wouldn’t be any townies, yet we all expect things to be fair and equal but they seldom are …. Why? Is it greed for money? For power? nothing lasts forever so why ….
Star Trek maybe science fiction but most of the stories are in some way a social commentary, some episodes are about the different ideologies in the world e.g. Communism, capitalism, the many faiths, some episodes are about the the use of force instead of negotiation, several have been about genetic manipulation and it ramification socially, but after watching these episodes I always feel better about life because it shows that in at least the minds of the writers and the immortal vision of Gene Roddenberry, that man can change, adapt and that there may be a decent future for us all, its a shame these people aren’t in control of the world, who knows things could be better off.

ps the first interracial kiss on TV was in Star Trek, it also brought us mobile phones, disk drives and countless other things, granted it avoids certain things but that because the TV executives are too worried about offending people and seem to think that making people think is a bad thing, I know the science on itsnt always perfect (why can you hear ships explode and move?) and that the cheese is sometime too much but Star Trek and Firefly are the only TV programmes I have ever seen and are ever likely to see (Fox and American TV executives are quite possibly the dumbest people on Earth) that challenge and to some extent discuss some of the very things that we hold most dear.

pps I realise that perhaps other TV programmes do that but being English and no satellite TV I haven’t seen an abundance of programmes that aren’t news, old films, bad soap operas or American sitcoms, you get the occasional thing but those two shows have stuck with me.

Ok, well I think that’s enough for now,

I tip my hat to thee, and I bid thee good day,

Life is like watching Star Trek: The Final Frontier. A complete and and utter stupid waste of time that can be better spent painting in the rain.

Spam comments

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

As i’m sure many of you are aware there are a few spam comments out there in the wilderness cluttering up our blogs. While these comments only pose a mild annoyance and lower the quality of the blogs I feel they wouldn’t be so bad if they just put some effort into them.

The one I have seen and found most annoying is the park ranger one, the comment suggested that my blog was ‘quite inquisitive’ and suggested that i visit another blog, whats wrong with that you ask, well I’ll tell you. My blog isnt inquisitive, a quick scan of it would tell you that, all I ask is a little effort, If the spammer can be bothered to send it then at least try and get my attention.

I posted a little reply to the comment, feel free to read it, its only a short one.

My site is getting there, I have added a forum which is still under construction, but there are some more pics uploaded and more on the way.

I got some e-mail to write so i’ll be off,

….and breath….

Yeah yeah i know its been a while bur seriously what were you expecting. Dissertation is going nowhere fast, law is done and handed in, ECRET is almost done and as for HUCID well….. we’ll see about that.

Work sucks, i just wanna quit now, cant wait for uni to finish, i can just kick back and do nothing for a little while before i step out into the big wide world.

A note to anyone wanting to goto Uni, first off it really is an experience that everyone should have, however….now this is important because they don’t tell you this when they (the evil people: Lecturers) say “goto uni its great fun wooo!!” is that you need to be Superman/Superwoman to do it.. the stress isnt all that fun and personally i don’t thin they really understand the kind of pressure they put on us and don’t get me started on tuition fees.

General mood of late is ARGH!!!!!!!!!! i just wanna sit in a corner and let it all finish on its own :(

tara for now

N.B. Updates may be a little slow, much like this one, although they may just be me shouting letting of steam.

Holiday

Monday, February 21st, 2005

The holiday from work is amazing, no stupid customers, no bugging from staff with supervisory questions (yes i used to be one - i dont mind general questions but supervisor questions should be for supervisors.) Its so relaxing not going to work,1 week to go before i go back and there is one question that i need to answer, to i quit?

The bit about faces is key to answering it, to cut a long story short, a doorman (overpaid canary/brain dead moron - there are a few exceptions) hit me in the face and threw an ice scoop at my face which hit my glasses and would have carried on if someone didn’t get in the way, all for the reason that because i was doing my job and he didn’t get his way and the result of all this is that i had to get my glasses fixed and he gets told hes been a naughty boy, is that fair? i think not, if it had been the other way round i cant but help it would have been worse for me.

We must not forget that hitting someone in the face who has glasses on is on the same level as kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach, its just plain wrong and anyone who does that is surly the scum of the ” ‘verse “.

This amongst other reasons is why i am thinking of leaving.
